Olivia Rodrigo and Black Eyed Peas
What do they have in common, and why did I put a photo of dandelions here?
I know the top writers all say not to do this, but I was checking my stats as I do every day and I got curated in my sixth different topic! It was in Music for my article “Beck’s Gonna Be at the Tableau Conference!”
But back to the question I posed in my subtitle. Well, like Beck, Olivia Rodrigo and Black Eyed Peas are world famous musical artists; however, they have at least two other ways they are connected. Ms. Rodrigo and Apl.de.ap of Black Eyed Peas are both Filipino-Americans, for one thing.
The present article though will talk about this connection they have — they both came up in today’s Iron Viz competition during the Tableau Conference. If you click on the link below, you can see them called out in two of the Tableau dashboards that the competitors created. (Olivia Rodrigo is actually in the last dashboard as well, it’s just that the contestant Samuel cleverly used the recently released Hide/Show Tableau functionality, so Olivia is tucked away underneath for now.)
I watched this today and you guys — it was riveting! If anyone was a fan of the Food Network’s Iron Chef America back in the day, I’m telling you, this was just as well-produced and a glitzy nail-biter as that TV show. The three contestants even wore chef’s coats and had their own sous chefs, and one of the three had as his superpower the ability to bake the most delicious chocolate muffins. Pradeep teased us by popping out a tray of said freshly baked goodies in his introductory little film, which he had to rub it in and say “I know you guys can’t smell these, but trust me these are chef’s kiss” or something to that effect.
