I love the Christopher Cross reference and this whole article for that matter. Well, I always bristle at any mention of Bill Simmons who seems to have a huge boulder-sized chip on his shoulder for anything pertaining to my fave NBA player of all time, Kareem. But otherwise, agree 100%.

My $0.02! Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I am seeing on Substack, the good writers are actually getting a fair number of paid subscriptions. I was taking advantage of Kareem's free newsletter for the longest time, but even he was like, dudes c'mon you gotta start paying me now. He had a special and since he already got me hooked, I became a paid Kareem sub. And I love it!

I just upgraded my sub to Simon's Substack cuz he has exclusives on there, and today I decided I was tired of livin' with FOMO. Plus I didn't want to keep cowering in my closet under constant threat of him exacting retribution for the 10 stars I gave to Super Mario Bros.
